Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu illustrated by Tsugano Gaku.
Suzumiya Haruhi is an adaption of the novel about Suzumiya Haruhi by Tanigawa Nagaru. I haven't read the manga but i feel that the Anime is the same since they both are adaptions. This anime would seem like a comedy at the start and is kind of like that throughout, but it really has a great philosophical theme which i really love.
On the first day of high school a beautiful girl named Haruhi Suzumiya introduces herself as having "no interest in ordinary humans". She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her. Watching her weird behaviour is Kyon a boy who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person who talks to her. Commenting on Haruhi's joining every club in school and then quitting Kyon unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own after school club. Thereafter Kyon and several others find themselves literally dragged into the Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade (the S.O.S. Brigade for short).
This anime have been very popular for a short manga/anime and it seems that many people want more of it. I doubt this possibility though but they can hope i guess. although the main popularity has started to die down it seems its not completely dead yet seeing as there recently was released a drama CD.
i would really like to read the Suzumiya Haruhi novel sometime. since i really enjoyed this Anime. This is an anime you really should watch. And this is not like the no name mangas i usually write about, this one is really popular too. But i kind of belive that most people just see the comedy in Suzumiya haruhi and not the very deep story behind.

Hoshi no Koe
Hoshi no Koe Made by Shinkai Makoto, Adapted by Sahara Mizu
This Manga mainly caught my eye because it had only one volume which is quite rare for mangas. so i bought it because i love short mangas, and it turned out to be a really great manga.
In a future filled with a boundless potential for interstellar peace and prosperity, Mikako joins a research team to explore the recent contact between humans and alien races. She ventures out into space, leaving behind Noboru, the one young man she loves. As she travels deeper into this new frontier, her only connection with her boyfriend is through cell-phone text messages. But the years pass, and Mikako barely ages in the timelessness of space--while Noboru grows older and considers moving on with his life...In this timeless romance between star-crossed lovers in the most tragic of settings, there are some places man may not be ready to go.
This is a really beautiful love story where time and space separates the two but they never give up on each other. I was really touched when i read it and i really wanted to watch the anime too since the manga is just an adaption from the anime.
This is really an extraordinary story of how painfull it is to be apart. i really really enjoyed this manga and if you like romance manga you will probably too

Elfen Lied
Elfen Lied by Okamoto Lynn
even though it looks like an innocent manga with it's cute art style and cover it really is one of the bloodiest manga's i have ever read. This manga is Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Shounen, Supernatural Manga and as such it's not to be take lightly. i Suggest you turn away from this manga if you aren't very fond of Horror/bloody mangas. There are also some very Echii (near pornographic) Parts of this manga involving very far sexual actions. Although i think that the Echii part of this manga really helps a laugh at times and makes the Manga alot more enjoying to read.
The Diclonius, a mutated homo sapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possesses two horns in their heads, and has a "sixth sense" which gives it telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murder most of the guards in the laboratory, only to get shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives and manages to drift along to a beach, where two teenagers named Kouta and Yuka discovers her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, "Nyuu," and the two allow her to stay at Kouta's home. However, it appears that the evil "Lucy" is not dead just yet...
The story in this manga is really exciting and thrilling and i think it has a really original story. This manga is not near as popular as the anime version but i found the anime rather disappointing because of the ending. and the fact that i was so in love with the manga at the point that i just got mad. For those who have seen the anime i can asure you that the manga continues where the anime stopped and has more exciting characters and a much better reason for it to be called "Elfen Lied" than a stupid music box.
Overall i really recommend this manga. The anime is really popular and if you didn't get enough then the manga is a great choice of action.

Negima!?
Negima!? Is the new animation of the Manga Mahou Sensei Negima. This Anime is produced by a different company than the ones who did the last negima anime. Personally I think that is because the other ones did a really horrible job. This new anime has much better Animation and an alternate storyline so we won’t see any fillers (episodes to fill in to not catch up with the manga.) The story is really great even though it seems goofy at first.
Negi Springfield has graduated from magic school and is sent off to Japan to further his studies. He becomes the homeroom/English teacher at an exclusive private school and has run-ins with an enemy of his father, as well as with Asuna, who makes his life a living hell, and that's before she discovers his secret. He learns about (and from) his students and about himself in order to become a master mage, like his father before him.
This Anime is still running and airs every Wednesday 17:30 on TV Tokyo as well as a few other Japanese TV stations. There has currently aired 17 episodes out of 26. What really hooked me on this anime though (even though I am a die hard fan of negima) is the Awesome/hilarious soundtrack. I really think this is one of the greatest soundtracks I have heard to date. And there are so many cool openings for the anime. Just the other day I got 18 different versions of the opening and 8 different versions of the ending. I will probably add some of these to the mp3 player soon.
The voice actors for this Anime are also really great! Naming one is Matsuoka Yuki which is my favourite voice actress. She does Evangeline A.K McDowell for this anime and she has done the voices in some quite famous Anime’s like “Nana” in Elfen Lied and “Osaka” in Azumanga Daioh.
All the other voice actors are really great too. I really don’t want to go into each of them since there are 32 main characters in this anime.
If you like Negima or just Akamatsu’s manga’s in general you really should watch this. Negima!? Is really an awesome Anime.

Anne Freaks
Anne Freaks by Kotegawa Yua is my most recent read manga. This manga is really one of the greatest short manga’s I have ever come across.
Yuri Kitagawa just killed his mother. Just when he thought it was all over, he runs into a girl named Anne who knows he killed his mother, and oddly, wants to help him. She also tells him she wants him to be her parent killing partner.
This Manga is all about killers. All the main characters are killers. I really like this because it goes against all this stereotypes. I really hate stereotypes and whish they didn’t exist. Manga’s like this is really the reason I really love manga’s.
This is a manga I really will go as far as say READ IT. I don’t care if you don’t like this kind of manga I say read it. This is an absolutely masterpiece! You won’t regret it!

Itsudatte My Santa
Itsudatte My Santa is a short manga by Ken Akamatsu. I haven't read the manga because it's really hard to come by. The anime is really great though. The plot is a really beautifull twist of an old Christmas tragedy cliche but it's still super beautifull!
Mai, a young and inexperienced Santa-in-training offers to spend the night with Santa, a young man with a knack for bad luck. Rarely having a proper birthday celebration, and born on the 24th of December, he is usually depressed; his parents usually vacation near his birthday. However, spending the night with Mai changes his view of life and shows him what is truly important.
For some reason Akamatsu's manga's has a tendency to always make me cry at some point. This manga has really great, wide variety of comical jokes, sad person and beautifull love.
i really loved this anime and i really want to read the manga.
There is only one thing that bothers me about this anime though. It's said everywhere that there are only two episodes but episode two has a preview for episode three. i hope i can find episode three someday. Itsudatte My Santa was a really great anime!
I'll say that if you've read Love Hina and liked it even a teensy bit definetly go for this one. you will not be disapointed!

Najica Blitz Tactics
Najica is yet another short manga i've found. Najica is on 3 volumes and i think that it's a quite good manga.
With 17% of the earth's surface submerged in water, Najica lives a double life, as both a skilled perfumer and an operative for the secret intellegence organization CRI. Her undercover partner Lila is a Humaritt, an incredibly lifelike android with abilities beyond those of normal humans. While Lila may have the skills she still lacks the knowledge of how to act correctly and normally within the real world. Najica and Lila go on dangerous and actionpacked missions for CRI and slowly begin to discover the secrets of what Humaritts are and what they were built for....
I think that this manga has a really great "Android" vs human reletionship, and brings up some meybe a bit cliche but good themes.
You get a quite good explenation at the end of this manga but like most short manga's you don't really get an ending. i think it's ok with this manga but sometimes it just pisses me of.
anyway i think that this is a really good manga. and if you don't like to read tower after tower of manga this manga is a very good choice.

Alice 19th
Alice 19th By Watase Yuu is a realy entertaining manga. Even though it's short it does have a conclusjon as opposed to the Nanaki manga.
Alice Seno is a 16-year-old girl who has always been overshadowed by her older sister, Mayura Seno. One day, Alice finds a rabbit who gives her powers because she is chosen to be a "Lotis Master". Alice has an argument with Mayura, and the latter disappears. Alice tries to save her, but it is too late. She must save Mayura from the demon that took her and bring her back to the real world.
It's really an interesting manga. This is such a short manga and its a shojo manga too which doesen't really get this manga known all that well. even so i think it's a great manga.
and the manga also has a really cool charackter (in my opinion) which is from norway. personaly i really love his personality and i think he is really funny. the story of the manga doesen't look like much at first glanze but it really is cool.
and the way the ending is really stirred me.
my opinion is that if you like shojo manga do go for this one.

Ranma 1/2
Ranma is one of the first manga i ever read and i think it is a great manga. I sadly haven't goten all the volumes yet because i haven't had the money to buy it.
well the main plot of Ranma is that while Saotome Ranma was on a training trip with his father in China he got plunged in the spring of drowned young girl and now whenever he is drenched in cold water he turns into a girl. Great plot for alot of cool stuff right? and it sure is. Rumiko Takahashi have really done a masterfull job on Ranma and it's still one of my favorite manga even after several years with my manga fandom. Sadly this manga could by someone to be considerd very drawn out and it seems the relationships between any of the charackters are going any way. Even so i've had alot of funny moments with this manga and even more ideas for my own drawings/manga
This really has become a manga Classic. even though it's geting kinda old it's still a super work and should be in every manga lovers house.
I'd say that this is a definet buy and if you like this kind of manga you will abselutely not be disapointed

School Rumble
School Rumble by Jin Kobayashi is a Manga i read quite some time ago and took up again to read recently. School rumble is a Manga i really want to call "the king of missunderstanings" this serie is hell of funny because of all these missunderstandings going on between the charackters. The main plot is: Second-year student Tsukamoto Tenma learns that her secret crush, Karasuma Oji, will be transferring to a school in America. In a last-ditch effort to reveal her love to him, she writes a long (but anonymous) love letter. When Karasuma ends up postponing his transfer for another year, Tenma realizes she has to tell him how she feels before time runs out again. But her extreme nervousness around him prompts her to try and setup all sorts of schemes to get close to him and let him know, without actually coming out and saying it. Meanwhile, unknown to Tenma, the school delinquent, Harima Kenji, has the biggest crush on her, as well as the same anxieties about being direct. Around this love triangle of clueless people are a few of Tenma's friends, and her younger (but older looking, more mature, and more popular) sister, Yakumo. Mainly the main charackter Tenma is compleatly useless and stupid. luckily later in the serie she isn't as centered as at the start. This manga is something i can see going to be quite long because of the super ongoing story with no ending in sight. even so the Manga is very fun and entertaining and has made me laugh very much. This is one of the few manga's i actually think is ok as an anime. that is because the anime is very very similar to the Manga.
So if you are a romance humor fan i say definetly go for this one, It can be stupid at times and also super hilarious.
Chou Shinri Genshou nouryokusha Nanaki
Chou Shinri Genshou nouryokusha Nanaki by Saenai Ryou is the shortest manga i have ever read. it's on only 16 chapters (2 volumes) and it's a pain to find info on it. That is probably because this serie isn't very popular and/or is very short. even though it is short i found it quite entertaining. Nanaki Shunsuke has been in a car aksident and avterwards it seems things are exploding around him
He finds out that he is a "chou noryokusha" as the Translator calls it which i think menas something Super powers or something. basicly it telekenisess (making things move with your brain and such) He gets told that he have to join an organisation called lock because of these powers. After some time in "lock" he finds himself partnered with Kudoh Ao which is kind of short grown. Lock works as a part of the police which handles abnormal phenomenas.
On these missions Nanaki has to learn to control his newfound powers while not geting into trouble by destroying to much.
I think this manga is too short and i don't feel like it has ended even though it has. The reson i think this is that there are quite a few planted seeds that never sprouted. Even so this manga has a great balance between Action and humor and has a great (but too short) story.
If you like fiction/fighting Manga you should check this one out. And also because it's so short it doesen't take too much time to read either.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Higurashi no naku koro ni (when cicadas cry) is the first horror manga that actually scared me. Before i read higurashi no naku koro ni my view on horror manga was that it never could be scary. I was quite wrong and Higurashi has left me in my seat urging for more yet not wanting to read on. Neither the Manga nor the Anime has been licenced yet so finding it in english will probably be quite hard for you. Basicly the story of higurashi no naku koro ni is that every year at the time of the watanagashi festival someone gets murdered and another disaperars.
It is belived that Oyashiro-sama is doing this and it has happened the last five years.
The Higurashi no naku koro ni manga has a quite uniqe story telling seeing as It is parted up in diffrent arcs. There is the question arcs which tells a story and lets you get a feel of the world of Higurashi no naku koro ni. and then there is the Answer arcs where you get an explanation for the Question arcs.
Higurashi no naku koro ni was originaly a PC game that became immensely popular in Japan and later Square-enix published the manga and anime.
The Arcs are as followed
question arcs
Onikakushi-hen (鬼隠し編 Demoning Away Chapter)
Watanagashi-hen (綿流し編 Cotton Drifting Chapter)
Tatarigoroshi-hen (祟殺し編 Curse Killing Chapter)
Himatsubushi-hen (暇潰し編 Time Wasting Chapter)
and Answer arcs
There are in all 12 Volumes of Higurashi no naku koro ni released with side arcs and extra arcs including the ones over.
Higurashi no naku koro ni is a really creapy and thrilling manga which i really recomend if you like that kind of stuff.
Ouran High School Host Club
Ouran High School host club is the first Shoujo manga i have checked out. (even though i've wanted to for some time.) i haven't read the manga yet but i really want to.
The anime is really cool though. The main story is about Fujioka Haruhi a scholarship student at exclusive Ouran High School, where it turns out that the bespectacled, short-haired Haruhi is the only student from a lower-middle class family in attendance. Then, to make matters worse, one day she breaks an $80,000 vase that belongs to one of the campus clubs: a mysterious outfit called the "Host Club," consisting of six super-rich (and gorgeous) guys. Mistaking Haruhi for a boy at first, they force her to work for the club to pay the damages, but when she proves to be a hit with the female students who come to be charmed and entertained, the guys decide it's more fun
This Anime/Manga is mainly really funny and has a great combination of funny charackters in it.
Although the Anime is good, like many other anime's, i really don't like the ending... i will check out the Manga because of this since they usualy is a bitt longer with more parts of the story and side stories
I really enjoyed this anime and i would definetly recomend it.
It really has great funny people in it and they are crazy too hehe

Flying Koi
Flying Koi isn't really an official manga (the author has plans for it though) Flying Koi is a (at the moment) webcomic which is featured on the internet ( http://flyingkoi.smackjeeves.com/ ) i myself find this Manga really funny and it is really genious charackters in it.
a few of the charackters are charackters you usualy don't find in mangas which i completly adore with this one. although the humor is good the lack of script kinda shows though. this is probably one of the things that make you don't want to read it but in my opinon this lack of proffesional work really is quite good.
The authors description of the manga is "Rough draft of a comedy about 4 teenage girls. Yeah it's weird... but it's supposed to be!
It all begins when Tsuru moves into the neighborhood...."
basicly Tsuru moves to the neighberhood and makes a friend on the first day... this friend is a kinda strange girl and she is one of my favorite charackters in this Manga because of her personality and the fact that she is a total pervert.
All in all i think it's a great Manga. Most people will probably stear clear because of the not perfekt art and the strangeness of the story, but i recomend to give it a try at least.

Category Freaks
Category Freaks isn't really a very popular manga. it's not very long either but i think it's really cool. The genre of this manga is horror and so it's rated 18+ it has a bit of blood and some very ecchi ( http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/lexicon.php?id=17 ) scenes. but if you are ok with those it's in fact quite enjoyable and thrilling.
The world is occupied by evil spirits preying of human weaknesses and desires. But what mortal can resists possession by these "freaks" when they can make dreams reality?
And what price is there to pay for wicked union of these spirits and their human hosts? Enter Nanami Paranormal Investigations where director, Asagi Nanami, Utilizes his own talents and supernatural aid to keep these spirits away from the folly human weaknesses. But can they succeed when the fruit of evil is so sweet?
Personaly i love Category freaks alot and would definetly recomend it. it's funny at the right times and it has very good suspense and horror effekts in it.

Azumanga Daioh
Azumanga Daioh is one of the few very diffrent, strange and unique Manga's. i would in fact go as far as ay that Azumanga daioh is one of a kind. What makes Azumanga so uniqe is the lack of a real plot or story.
The manga follows five very strange/uniqe charackters that are a little diffrent from your average students.
Azumanga has a whole arsenal of diffrent jokes each stranger than the other. Even the teachers in this manga is put on the edge of legal teachers.
When you read/watch Azumanga daioh you will also come over diffrent dreams of each of the charackters. now Dreams are usualy strange but the ones in Azumanga Daioh are super strange and funny.
What i really like about Azumanga Daioh is all the diffrent jokes and thinking about what the hell makes them say all these crazy things.
i've read the english translation of the manga and i'm not really impressed, but since azumanga is a manga with tons of untranslatable jokes and such i can't really blame the translators.
Even though the english translation is bad i still find it enjoyable to read since there are many other genius jokes.
Also the manga is going against generalisation which i think is really cool. Most mangas or other stuff always stick to stereo types and generalisation.

Chokotto Sister
Chokotto sister By Sakura Takeuchi and Go Zappa is one of the most uniqe Manga's i have ever read. The main story or plot is that Kawagoe Haruma gets a sister for chirstmas present from santa. He names his sister choko and now choko is trying to adjust to life as a newly born 11 year old. Choko has an anchoko or dictionary where she reads everything she doesen't understand.
What i really think is great with this manga is the humor and the charackter choice.
Choko does really have some really funny comments time to time and one of my favorite charackters in this manga is a drunk perverted girl. She thinks of the strangest things including geting choko to show her chest to her in exchange she shows hers.
I haven't read too much of this manga since it's not licenced meaning that there are no official English translation.
As for the anime i don't think it's as good as the manga but that is my usual opinion. The Anime has some really great music though.
This manga is the only manga (i can think of at the moment.) that made me laugh like hell on the second page.
For the end i think Chokotto Sister is a really great manga. It's really too bad there are so little of it in english. If i go to japan sometime this is one of the manga i would buy if i found it.

Negima
Hehe yeah i'm still in Ichigo mode so i had to do Negima today since it's also one of my favorite mangas.
Negima is Ken Akamatsu's most recent manga as opposed to yesterday when i wrote about Ai ga tomaranai which was his first. In my opinion Akamatsu-sensei have improved a whole lot but it also start to be some years since he mad ai ga tomaranai.
The main plot of negima revolves around 10 year old Negi springfield. A newly graduated mage and for training he has been assigned as a teacher at an all girls school in japan.
Negima is one of the longer mangas where Negima volume 17 gets out 17th january in japan. I say Negima is a kind of long story but Ichigo has 19 volumes. The reson is that i think Negima will last a bit longer than 19 volumes and most Mangas that goes down the drain does so before vol 15 i guess (most of them)
Anyway Negima is really well made because It's a long serie and at the same time it's exciting, funny and beautifull to the core.
The reason this Manga is long is because we need to get to know the 31 girls of negi's class pluss some others.
My idea of this Manga is that it doesn't have a goal in sight yet, there is some kind of goal like negi finding his father but even that is far away even now since no one have a clue where he is.
What i think is really sad is that the Negima Anime was a true let down and it's seriously horrible as hell. The only good thing about it is the voice acting and the music.
Fortunatly there were released another anime which is an alternate story to negima. Here the art is 500% better the story is cool and the voice acting and song remain top quality. The anime is now currently Airing in japan every wednesday 17:30 on Tv Tokyo, Osaka Tv and some other channels. If you have any of those channels i highly recomend watching it.
What you need to watch out for in this manga though is Akamatsu-sensei very echii jokes. i think it's great but who knows, someone might be offended.

Ai ga Tomaranai
Before i started reading Ichigo 100% i started a bit on Ken Akamatsu's Ai ga Tomaranai (A.I love you) My first impression on this manga was actualy quite good but when i read on i kinda felt that the plot didn't have any ground to walk on so the story is kinda dull in my opinion.
yeah a computer program coming to life is really really cool idea but in the end it is the plot that drags this one down. Akamatsu-sensei is actually a really great manga artist and seeing that this is his first manga it's actualy quite good. Though i don't really get the same feeling as that of negima or love hina. The art is completly diffrent and there aren't as much echi scenes as there are in love hina and negima
i'll say this manga is worth a shot but don't expect much from i. it's not all that great.

Ichigo 100%
Ichigo 100% or strawberry 100% as the english translation is named is on of the greatest love manga's i have read in a long time. Mizuki Kawashita really manages to bring out the real emotions of all the charackters. The story itselfs revolves around Manaka Junpei who dreams of becoming a movie director. The Manga starts out as a usual love triangel manga with around 5 girls liking Manaka at the most. Although it starts of as a usual love triangel the story quickly developes to stages past this. Although can't seem to make up his mind on which girl he wants he is not the usual idiot in the reletion ship and the useles guy that doesen't get the girls fealings. The story developes lovely throughout the serie and the last 2 volumes left me in tears throughout because of the beautifull love i could feel between the charackters. Also the prologe i find really fitting, where you get to see what everyone does 6 years later how the charackters have developed even then. Most mangas or at least anime's i have seen just ends (which is the case with the ichigo manga) i personaly don't find such ends fitting because when i get as hung up with the charackters as i usualy do i want to say a real goodbye to the charackter and not sit back longing for more. This is definetly one of the greatest mangas i have read to date, even rivaling Negima and Azumanga daiou although those two are in a compleate diffrent genre.
all in all Ichigo 100% gives you a love comedy like you've never seen before and you will feel the love and emotion between all the charackters truly!
So i'll say if you like love mangas where you truly feel the emotions of the charackters go for Ichigo without hesitation!
